Testimonies
At The Solid Rock of Atlanta, we believe that healing, just like salvation, is a part of the atonement package. The Bible states in 1Peter 2:24. Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. (Were healed is past tense) Satan is the accuser of the brethren. But, according to the Word of God, Revelation 12:11 tells us that they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. Signs and wonders follow the teaching of the Word of God.

JoAnn Ricketson: The Testimony of my nephew coming out of...My nephew, Jonathan, was hit by an oil tanker on Dec. 6th, 2008. He had to be revived and was not expected to live. After surviving through the night, the doctors performed surgery. Jonathan was in a coma and after three weeks the doctors started making attempts to wake him, with no response. They started making plans to place him in a long term care facility because there was nothing more that they could do for him.
That Sunday I attended church at The Solid Rock of Atlanta and heard several testimonies of people coming out of comas after prayer. I asked them to pray for Jonathan. I stood in proxy as they laid hands on me and prayed. They commanded Jonathan to wake up; my faith was ignited.
After church, I called to see how Jonathan was doing. Praise God! he had come out of the coma, but there was another setback. His feeding tube had been inserted improperly and the contents had been draining into his abdomen causing infection and fever. He was fighting for his life again.
His grandmother said that the doctors were concerned that he might not make it. I told her that we had prayed for Jonathan at church and that I was speaking in line with our prayers. He will live.
After several weeks the fever subsided and Jonathan was transported to The Shepard Center and placed in the acquired brain injury unit.
Upon my first visit to Jonathan after he had awakened from the coma, I was terrified to see blank eyes staring back at me with no sign of recognition. I laid hands on him and commanded him to be healed. We continued to pray for Jonathan and started seeing improvements. Every few days we noticed changes, and he was finally getting his voice back, We brought him a book and yes he can read. Then we find him maneuvering his wheelchair down the hall, and finally he has rediscovered the computer and is back to himself.
After six weeks, Jonathan was discharged and returned to south Georgia where he will continue his therapy. God did bring much good out of this unfortunate accident; Jonathan now believes in God, he has reconciled his relationship with both his Mom and Dad and yes, his personality has changed. We all agree that it is for the better. He is friendlier and more talkative than before.
Praise God ! Jonathan's recovery is nothing short of a miracle. God answered all of our prayers. Van and Regina, thank you for your faithfulness and I thank all of you that prayed for Jonathan. Tuesday, 14 April 2009 09:05 Margaret Eagleton: My Healing TestimonyOne month ago I had problems with my abdomen/stomach because of pain and irritability. At the advice of my physician, she ordered a ultra sound to check for kidney stones. However, the test showed I had a mass on my pancreas. The following Sunday morning I went up for prayer according to James 5:14.
The following week they took a CT Scan of my abdomen/stomach/pancreas, and there was no mass found! Praise God! Thank you Pastors for your faithfulness! Friday, 20 March 2009 21:34 Felichia Aryeetey: Thanks to Van and ReginaThanks to Van and Regina for your selflessness. I am so very grateful to see this message being shared in the Atlanta area. Also, a very special thanks to the Jays for extending themselves the entire time we were there.
When I heard that you were already outgrowing your church my spirit leaped because God had just shown me a picture of a sort of flow chart. I saw a circular chart with the words Emmanuel, Atlanta, Growth and an overflowing harvest of fruit.
I was also very inspired to see the fire exploding from you while you encouraged the families to join with you in giving and partnering with AWMI. While you were speaking I was encouraged to give what was left in my pocket. It was a small amount but, if I know God I prayed over it that God would multiply this seed to me and to you as well.
Well, I returned home Sunday night and started unpacking and that's when it started. Now it is Friday of the same week, and I have already found in another jacket pocket more than twice what I would have sown in the service, received an increase in my paycheck from Fed taxes decreasing, more cash for my birthday, unexpected cash for carpooling, and child support monies I had prayed for a while ago.
I will be sowing another seed from this harvest to AWMI and the family at The Solid Rock of Atlanta and expecting God to continue multiplying.
Praises to the God who provides seed and multiplies it as well! There is no one like Him!

It was a pleasant surprise. But that was not the end. She and her daughter came to our house, and we had a wonderful fellowship, and she told me she'd pray that my dad and my relationship would be close again. Well, a few days later, instead of the usual drop by and leave, my dad spent some quality time with us. And almost a week later, he did again! God is so good!
I am expecting to post more testimonies in the near future.
I love you Pastors Van and Regina and The Solid Rock of Atlanta Family!
Love and blessings,
Alicia Elliott
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16
Sunday, 01 March 2009 09:02 Anna Gaxiola Leal: My Aunt kidnapped in Mexico was released...On December 13, 2008, my aunt, Mavet Gaxiola, was kidnapped from outside her house in Culiacan Sinaloa, Mexico, the reason; money.
For the last years there has been a huge wave of crime and kidnappings for ransom in Sinaloa where the 95% result in murder, usually they keep them in dark and lonely rooms, with little or no food, they torture them, sometimes cutting pieces of their body like fingers and sending them to the family as a way to pressure them to get the money faster.
As soon as the family, friends and church knew about the kidnapping we started to pray for her to be liberated and for her protection. Many churches around Mexico and USA, including our church,The Solid Rock of Atlanta, were united in prayer and support. We prayed for her safety and well being, for the minds of the kidnappers to be confused and to free her and for their salvation through her.
We were thrilled to know that on February 24, 2009, after 74 days captive, she was liberated and sent home with her family. And not only that, but we also knew that they never touched her, she was given food from restaurants that she liked, they bought her clothes that she wanted, she was taken care of, and the biggest miracle of all was that she led the 3 kidnappers to Jesus, and they got saved!!!
We praise the Lord and give infinite thanks to our faithful God for Mavet's life being kept and because His grace, love and power were reflected in every situation. Friday, 27 February 2009 14:36 Kathy Palazzola: My mother-in-law passed in peaceMy Mother in law, who lived in Arizona, became ill in December 2008, with an illness that needed chemotherapy and dialysis. In early January, on a Saturday, my sister- in-law called to let me know that while being taken off dialysis my mother in law went into a coma. She asked that we pray for her. My Fiancé had attended a service at The Solid Rock of Atlanta in which a woman who had come out of a coma was present. The church had prayed for her and there she was, at the service. When my fiancé arrived at my house, I asked if we could pray for her So we did. The following Sunday, my fiancé attended church. When my fiancé came home I was eager to let him know that my mother in law had come out of her coma!! My sister-in-law had called to let me know that she had come out of her coma. Praise God! She said it was a Resurrection! No one felt she was strong enough to come back! No one except God! She, according to my family, came back in peace. My mother-in-law had decided at that time that with the information the doctor's had given her concerning her health, that she didn't want to go through this again, she wanted to just go to sleep and be with the Lord. My mother in law was afraid of a lot in her lifetime, so this was something everyone was astounded to hear. My sister-in-law is a Christian. (In fact, I am sure they were praying for her also) She and her sister decided to call all the family and get them to the hospital as soon as possible to say good bye to their grandmother, sister, and friend. What took place was praise to my Heavenly Father! My mother-in-law got to see her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother and sister-in-law and friends; she spoke to them of forgiveness and love, and what they meant to her. She cried and laughed with them. My daughter who went to see her, slept in the room at the hospital said she woke to hear her saying Our Father at about 4 in the morning, then she heard her talking to Him, asking Him to go ahead and take her, she was tired and ready to come home. My sister-in-law brought in her friends from church and they prayed with her and the family; they sang God's praises out loud and spread joy along the hallway of the hospital! At this point, my mother-in-law wished to go home with the Lord and requested to be transferred to a hospice. When my mother-in-law left the hospital to go to hospice, she called one of the nurses over and told her that she loved her and would see her in Heaven! I asked my fiancé if we could pray for her again and he agreed. We prayed that she would go peacefully in her sleep and there would be no drama or hard circumstances concerning her passing. I had an opportunity to talk with her. She told me not to cry, that she loved me very much and we would all be together one day in the Kingdom of Heaven. It was ok, she was ready to go home. She ministered to me in the last days of her life! She and her two daughters stayed in Hospice for about a week, and on the 14th of January early in the morning, as my two sister-in-laws were having words with one of the care givers there about her medication and how to administer it, one of them looked at her and noticed that she seemed to be sleeping but with no pulse. She looked over and asked the care giver to check her pulse. She had simply fallen asleep and gone on to be with the Lord !!! My sister-in-law cried tears of joy. She called us and we rejoiced with her. Blessed Be the Name of the Lord! Blessed be his Holy Name! Sunday, 22 February 2009 20:12 Denise Freeman: Healing is a part of everyday life . . .Healings are a part of every day life at The Solid Rock of Atlanta. We are so excited about the awesome Word of Truth, and the power of God that enables us to move mountains and change lives forever!
Two weeks ago, my mother called right as we were walking out the door to go to church. She wanted me to ask the church to pray for my sister, Debby. Debby had been working out the day before when her eye sight got blurry; when she went to look in the mirror, she was shocked to see that one of her pupils had dilated all the way (her iris was totally black)! She was taken to the hospital immediately and spent ten hours being tested. After all that, they had no diagnosis. They scheduled an appointment with a neurologist for Monday morning.
When we got to church, I asked Van if we could pray for Debby; the whole church prayed. Regina anointed my forehead with oil as Van prayed, commanding her eyes to be made whole and perfect, in the name of Jesus. It was 11:30 when we prayed.
That afternoon, I called to check on my sister.I asked her how her eyes were, and she said that they finally got back to normal that morning.I asked her where she was, and what time it was when her sight was restored. She said it was right at 9:30 because she had just gotten to church. She said that it just came back all of a sudden.
The amazing thing is that Debby lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico (there is a two hour time difference). She was healed at the exact moment we prayed for her!
That same morning we prayed for my newest great nephew, Jackson, who had been born the previous week.He was attachedto tubes in the hospital, struggling to breath. The doctors were concerned for his life and that if he were to live that there may be brain damage. The pastors and the congregation prayed for little Jackson that morning. He went home from the hospital the next day perfectly healthy!
We really do worship in Spirit and in Truth at The Solid Rock! There is so much unity in the body; it is awesome! What a great place to worship the Risen Lord! Wednesday, 18 February 2009 11:54
